Arturo Vega Ramones Slideshow
Talk by Arturo Vega

Monday 19 September 2011, 18.30–20.30

A talk and slideshow on cult punk band the Ramones by Arturo Vega, stage show designer, personal friend and the artist behind their iconic logo.

Arturo Vega was, for 22 years, artistic director, guardian and very close friend to the Ramones, creating not only their logo but also many of their album covers and stage designs. The Ramones logo came to be a flag for the punk movement in New York in the 1970s and is now one of the most recongnised band logos in the world. Vega has produced a solid body of work that includes paintings using a series of images taken from various media publications as well as fragments of the band lyrics.

Arturo is creating a wall piece for Never Records London as part of the MERGE arts, music and performance festival on Bankside.
