Karlssons London – An Imagery (2010) is a portrait of London that focuses on certain urban archetypes deemed to represent London’s essential character. Walking the routes and visiting the locations depicted by Gustave Doré’s 1872 etchings, Martin Karlsson has updated this portrait of the city, highlighting the ways in which architecture, characters and patterns of urban life have endured or changed in contemporary London. Join Karlsson as well as a host of other professionals on this walk as he revisits some of the sites local to Bankside, connecting with both the history, geography and architectural aspects of the area. It will offer a lively exploration on the past but also reflections of the future shaping of this area.
