Welcome to Magnificent Materials.

Magnificent Materials was the title for the Out of Hours Primary Schools Projects taking place at Tate Modern in the spring and summer terms of 2002.

During two 10 week projects pupils from Charles Dickens Primary School and Friars Primary School worked with artists Michaela Ross and Marianne Holm Hansen to examine the properties, lifecycles and meanings of materials.

Throughout the projects the pupils created digital animations as well as object-based works. To view the animations click on the Charles Dickens Primary School and Friars Primary School buttons above. To see more of the artworks click on Images from the project and to read more about the project and the process by which these works were created click on About the project above. A very big thank you to teachers, families, helpers and funders for their enthusiasm and support.
