In conjunction with the exhibition Global Cities, which looks at the changing faces of ten dynamic, international cities (Cairo, Istanbul, Johannesburg, London, Los Angeles, Mexico City, Mumbai, Sao Paulo, Shanghai, and Tokyo) this series of film and video screenings explores critical perspectives on the urban condition. Bangalore-based film curator Shai Heredia, filmmaker Patrick Keiller and theorist Eyal Weizman will introduce a series of works that reflect their interests, expertise and experience. Other films selected by the Global Cities curatorial team explore many themes addressed in the exhibition, and question some of the social and political issues that pervade urban life.
