agnès b. selects
Sunday 1 April – Sunday 29 April 2007
On the occasion of Gilbert & George's retrospective at Tate Modern, agnès b. has selected some of her favourite 1960s British films. A seminal figure in fashion design and friend of Gilbert & George, agnès b. is one of the world’s great supporters of cinema. From producing new films through her Love Streams production company (named in homage of the Cassavetes/Rowlands masterpiece), re-releasing films both theatrically and on DVD in her native France, to supporting retrospectives, agnès b. infuses her work with a passion for the seventh art. To honour that commitment, and her particular love for films from the UK, she has selected a programme in tribute to Gilbert & George that resonates with many important themes in the exhibition.
