Gallivant

Friday 7 January 2005, 19.00

Andrew Kötting, UK 1996, 103’

Gladys is the director’s grandmother, an opinionated octogenarian bursting with anecdotes and reminiscences. Eden is Kötting’s seven year-old daughter who has Joubert’s Syndrome and communicates through sign language. In this entirely unexpected spin on the road movie, the trio set off around the British coastline to discover themselves and a host of eccentrics along the way.

The bfi & Tate: Kings of the Road film series is programmed to reflect themes in the Robert Frank: Storylines exhibition.
