I have selected the films in Programmes Two and Six to reflect my ongoing interest in the fragility and temporality of our existence, and in sexual difference as a philosophical and political issue. (Vivienne Dick)

Waiting for the Wind
James Nares, 1982, 10 min

Waiting for the Wind presents a radical disruption of the laws of space and time, slipping from an objective recording of a naked man twisting and turning in his sleep to a subjective view of disintegration and alienation.

Barbie
Tina L'Hotsky, 1977, 10 min

A wry comment on the female body as sexualised object.

Untitled #1
Masha Godovannaya, 2005, 4 min

Untiled #1 came about when Godovannaya was walking along Nevsky Prospect in St. Petersburg and saw 'a young girl dancing this harsh, passionate and seductive dance'.

Empty Suitcases
Bette Gordon, 1980, 49 min

Empty Suitcases is a bold experiment in the relationship between sound and image, posing questions around relationship, identity and voyeurism.
