Videograms of a Revolution (1992, 106 min), Farocki's iconic collaboration with Andrei Ujica, documents the Romanian revolution through 125 hours of amateur and professional archival video footage. It exploits the techniques of spectacle as a tool with which to construct a view of history. The cinema has always been attracted to prisons. In Prison Images (2000, 60'), Farocki quotes from fiction films and documentaries, as well as footage from surveillance cameras to look at the new surveillance and control technologies in today's prisons.
