In Christian Petzold's Yella (2008, 87 min) a rootless woman joins forces with a roving venture capitalist in a richly textured allegory of lust, greed, loneliness, and desire set in rural East Germany.

Harun Farocki's Nothing Ventured (2004, 50 min) is an examination of venture capital, documenting two days of tough negotiations between entrepreneurs and bankers. It is a microscopic look at one cell of today's economy, an ethnographic portrait of a twenty first century business dealing.
