As you See (1986, 72 min) is an example of one of Farocki’s early essay films where he develops his associative method at its best. A Day in the Life of the Consumer (1993, 44 min) weaves together 40 years of adverts to present 24 hours in the life of a consumer, all served with lashings of irony.
