Art, Politics, War

Led by Nigel Warburton
Mondays 6 June 2011 – 11 July 2011, 18.45–20.15

Politics and war have always impacted on art. Yet art with a political message has an uneasy relationship with propaganda. This course explores themes of war, oppression and the visual communication of ideas, as they emerge in the work of artists as varied as Joan Miró, Simon Norfolk and Taryn Simon.
