Poetry from Art:
Finishing Poems - Editing
Led by award winning poet Pascale Petit
Mondays 7 June 2010 – 12 July 2010, 18.45–20.15
How does a first draft become a publishable poem? This six-week course invites you to write poetry in response to art in the galleries and edit those early drafts into finished poems. The special emphasis of this term is editing techniques. We will devote every other session to group discussion of how to edit poems written in class. The course will result in a Tate pamphlet publication.
This course is open to both beginners and experienced writers.
