Members acquisitions

Every year, Members contribute a remarkable £5 million to Tate through subscription income. This means that Tate can purchase more works of art and fund special exhibitions for everyone to enjoy.

This past year Tate Members helped acquire 15 works of art totalling £1.5 million. Tate Members' Council member, Simon Wilson, speaks about four, which represent an identified missing link in the Tate collection - take a look at the film above. Thank you for your continuing support.

In 2007 Members helped acquire JMW Turner's exquisite painting The Blue Rigi, Sunrise 1842. Watch the film above for a special message from Jon Snow, Chair of Tate Members charity, about this special purchase.

In addition, take a look below at the works of art and exhibitions that you've helped acquire in recent years, as well as the top 50 Member acquisitions accumulated since the charity was founded 50 years ago.
