Applying for Council

Any Member (with the exception of second card holders) is welcome to apply to be considered for Council. There is provision for up to 3 Member-nominated members on Council. The wish is to strengthen expertise in the areas of marketing/direct marketing and market research - to act in an advisory capacity. Priority will be given to candidates possessing these skills.

Nominations are reviewed by Tate Members Council Nominations Review Committee. Approved candidates go forward to stand at the next Tate Members Annual General Meeting. 

To be considered you need to be nominated by another Tate Member. Nominations are welcome throughout the year. Those received too late for consideration in the current year will be held over until the next year. Nominations are welcome for 2012, closing on 31 March 2012.

Please accompany your nomination with a written declaration, confirming your willingness to stand, together with a 150 word personal statement. Write to the Company Secretary, Tate Members, Tate Britain, Millbank, London SW1P 4RG. 

Applying for Tate Liverpool or Tate St Ives regional committee

To apply to be considered for your regional committee, you must be an 'extra card' Member of your chosen gallery (but not a second card holder) - i.e. a Tate Liverpool extra card holder for the Tate Liverpool membership committee or a Tate St Ives extra card holder for the Tate St Ives membership committee.

There is provision for up to three Member-nominated members on each regional committee.

The wish is to strengthen expertise in the following areas, in an advisory capacity:

- On the Tate Liverpool committee - legal and services/customer care
- On the Tate St Ives committee - new media and legal

Priority will be given to candidates possessing these skills.

Nominations are reviewed by Tate Members Council Nominations Review Committee. Approved candidates are recommended for election at the September meetings of the regional committees, when all committee appointments and re-appointments are made by paper ballot.
