On the last Thursday of every month Tate Liverpool opens late for special events, music, food, drink and the best of modern and contemporary art.

Join Tate Liverpool for an evening inspired by the great British painter Glenn Brown. Glenn Brown: Living Vicariously features an exclusive tour of the captivating Glenn Brown retrospective presented by Tate Liverpool curator Laurence Sillars, and a special performance by a.P.A.t.T., a lively and experimental music collective from Liverpool.

Late at Tate presents a tour by Tate Liverpool curator Laurence Sillars, who worked closely with Glenn Brown during the realisation and installation of the exhibition. In a special tour of the rooms in the show, Sillars will discuss the exhibition in its entirety, from the vast science fiction paintings of Room 1 and Brown’s skilful appropriation of brushwork in Room 2, to newly presented works in Room 9. A must-see for fans of the artist or for the curious, the tour promises to be an invaluable insight into the work of one of the most captivating and skilled painters of a generation.

a.P.A.t.T performance    18.00-21.00    Foyer

In homage to the pop music references in Glenn Brown's work, a performance by avant-garde music collective a.P.A.t.T. will take place in the foyer throughout Late at Tate. Performing from their every-wave, genre-hopping catalogue, the band will also be playing material from their upcoming album Ogadimma. Expect wild instrument swapping and extreme interpretations of well known, and some not so well known styles of music from Black Metal to Gypsy Swing to Synth Pop.
