Art & Design: Collaboration

  • John Cage was described as an experimental musician; he sometimes worked with the visual artist Robert Rauschenberg where they would bring together art, music and performance.
  • Discuss how artists and musicians might work together.
  • Use the Tate website to look at other artists that collaborate. You could look up artists such as Gilbert &George, Tim Noble &Sue Webster, the Chapman Brothers. Discuss how you think working together might be beneficial. What might be difficult about working with another person to produce artwork?
