Information and resources on "Colour Chart" at Tate Online.

Your photos

Tate Liverpool has collaborated with the photo sharing community Flickr to invite you to contribute your own colour monochromes (photos of just one colour) to create a constantly changing colour chart.

All the photographs in the Colour Chart group on Flickr will be shown here on Tate Online, and 36 of the images will be used to make a glossy Colour Chart poster, which will also be displayed at Tate Liverpool.

What is a colour monochrome?

  • A colour monochrome is an image of one colour only.
  • For this group, the main colour of the shot should fill at least 95% of the frame. (The frame can also be filled by a single colour.)
  • Images should be as shot rather than colour manipulated.
  • Check out the images in the group for pointers.

Submitting your photograph

To submit a photograph, simply join the Colour Chart Group on Flickr and add your photograph anytime until 15 Aug 2009.

You can add up to 5 photos to the group.

Submissions to the group are moderated, so it may take up to a day for your photograph to appear in the group.

Thanks to our friends at Flickr for their support.
