Exhibition Tour: Griselda Pollock: Encounters with Niki de Saint Phalle and her Moment
Art historian and cultural analyst, Griselda Pollock (CentreCATH, Univeristy of Leeds) has devoted over thirty years to the study and analysis of the works of artists who are women, with a major focus on their engagements with the challenges of modernity and modernism. In this exhibition tour and illustrated discussion on the work of de Saint Phalle, Pollock explores the wider context and significance of the monumental project HON and will also explore the creative collaboration between de Saint Phalle and Jean Tinguely in the light of culture's difficulties in recognising the meaning of such cross gender partnerships.
