BT: Bringing Innovation & Technology Together

Coffee with the Wittgensteins

Thursday 31 July 2008, 18.00–19.45

This short documentary play takes as its starting point an image of five of Karl Wittgenstein's children drinking coffee with their mother during the First World War. Using newly discovered Wittgenstein archives, it succeeds in charting Karl Wittgenstein's maverick artistic patronage of Klimt and the Viennese Secession and follows his children’s glittering contribution to 20th century philosophy, music and the arts.

Presentation by Sarah Lenton starring actors Sarah Finch and Nicholas Rowe, with John Snelson on piano. Margaret Stonborough, great granddaughter of Karl Wittgenstein, moderates a question and answer session at the end of the performance.
