This study day will look at art historical and literary references in the work of Jake and Dinos Chapman, in particular the influence of the Surrealists and the writings of Sigmund Freud. It will also consider the impact of Francisco de Goya and the subsequent defacement of his work by the artists. The course consists of a mix of interactive slide lectures and discussion based workshops in the galleries.
