Re-trace: Exploring Twentieth Century Art through Drawing
Led by Mat Gregory and Ed Bruce
Wednesdays 7 November 2007 – 5 December 2007, 18.00–20.00
A relaxed and informal introduction to modern and contemporary art through discussion and drawing. This course will focus on the themes of figure and form in our new Collection display. The sessions will be delivered through a combination of presentations, discussions and gallery and studio based drawing workshops.
Working with an artist and an art historian, participants will develop their own drawing practice in response to shared ideas while being inspired by the works on display in the gallery. Topics explored include Images of Man, Abstraction, Art and Photography and Drawing as Thought. Some of the sessions include life drawing from a model in the galleries. All welcome. No experience necessary.
