Planning
for Presentations: Activity 1
Introduction
Activity 1: Looking at, Selecting and Titling Work
Lay out work and select and title remaining work
e.g.;
- Disposable camera images
- Photos of interventions at school
- Drawings form journal
Discuss: Planning for presentation
During our presentation, we decided to give a ‘tour’ around
the gallery, with the boys saying a few words each about their work.
I agreed to introduce them as the artists, after which they would briefly
say what led them to the piece they made. (This would be a good opportunity
to bring in a performance element, simulating the conventions of museum
tours).
Any excess time was spent tidying up books, making
good unfinished drawings, labelling and sticking in loose work
On the presentation night we showed;
- Live Tate Interventions, via a tour around the galleries
- Photographs of School interventions
- Video footage of school interventions
- Disposable camera homework images
- Video footage of school interventions
- Enlarged proposal drawings from journals
- Large collage piece comparing The Courtauld and Tate Modern
- 15 Minute sculptures inspired by surrealist art
- Postcard set
The boys also brought a floor mat from school with St Thomas the Apostle College written boldly across it, this was placed in the entrance to the presentation room and served as a neat, interventionist link between the two sites of the project.
