It was the year of 1940 and Mr Phillips was taking his old favourite out for a walk on a lovely day. Mr Phillips had just gotten to the top of the hill when this huge gust of wind past over the hill. The sky had turned grey and was looking really angry, looking as though any second now it would start to rain. Mr Phillips spured his horse on, his horse galloped faster and faster towards an old shelter that looked as though it was going to fall down any second. Next thing Mr Phillips knew there was a huge gust of wind coming from the highest mountain many yards away, the shelter came down with a large crash. Mr Phillips turned his horse around really quickly and headed in the direction that he came. He was at his front fence when the sky gave a mighty roar and the rain came down. Mr Phillips got his horse round the back and went inside soaking wet.

One grey misty day John was riding his horse called Bert. He was taking him out for a hack round the woods and had a jump as well. The horse is a warm blood event horse. The rider has won sixteen cups and twenty-eight medals. The horse has won badminton, and burly horse trials. The rider lives in the countryside in an old house. He has ten stables so that ten horses can sleep there. Also he has two hundred acres of land for them. He has five females and five male horse and two foals. He has enough room for 180 horses if he had enough money.

His horse called Bert can jump 4 foot 3 inches. He also does dressage and won trophies to. And won medals to. My partner has his own horses he has 4 of them. John saw this hairy creature so he made Bert go faster so the thing would not catch them. The thing didn’t catch them and john never saw it again.

As the sun was falling Dave was enjoying his daily ride on his favourite racehorse Coco. Dave was a 25 year old man and he owned his own racing stables in the middle of Dartmoor. He lived in a lovely old farm cottage with his wife Sue. He was preparing Coco for the biggest race of his life. It is the biggest race over hurdles, the Gold Cup. Dave thought that Coco was in tip-top condition. As the sun was falling Dave decided to put Coco to bed and close up the stable. He galloped back and enjoyed every moment of it.

As the sun rose on Saturday morning Dave's mare Coco was really excieted and couldn't wait till dave took him out for a ride. With a week to the big race Dave was eager to get Coco as good as she could get. In the past Dave has had a very sucessful history with a horse many people arged was the best ever to race over hurdles. He fed all the horses and took Coco out. The week past very quickly for Dave and with one day to go Coco was fine and Dave was very excited.

One day Dave was having a ride on his racehorse called Coco. Dave was a 30 year old man and he owned a lovely farm house on Exmoor. He owned a stable and Coco was his favourite horse. He had a thought! He was thinking about entering Coco in the biggest race over hurdles, and then he saw a poster saying "HUGE RACE AT 12 NOON ON THE FIELD BY THE FARM .CONTACT MR COCKLE ON 0675 4536.WILL BE HELD ON THE 2ND OF JULY". As the sun was starting to fall Dave thought he should go in so he could prepare for the big race.

The next day he started preparing his horse Coco. What he did first was ride around on Coco like he normally did. Then he fed the horse so it would have some energy to race. Then Dave got the hurdles out so Coco could practice his jumping skills. He knew that Coco loved to do the hurdles. They had finished doing the hurdles when it started to rain. Dave hurried into the house and Coco ran into the stables.

The next day it was still raining so they couldn't practice. Then he thought. It was the race today! A bit later a man rang up and said the race was cancelled. Dave said "All that hard work for nothing".

The sun dawned on another saturday morning in Devon. David opened the stable door. He was a nice guy and owned a Dartmoor riding stable. In their stables were his five horses: Chestnut, Lightning, Choco, Joey and Zowie. He let them out into the large paddock full of fresh grass. Meanwhile David cleaned out their stalls. It was hot work but he loaded all the dirty straw onto the back of his truck before he went indoors for his lunch. After his cornish pasties he revved up his quad bike and sped of to check the horses.

When he arrived at the paddock David immediatly noticed a large hole in the hedge and Chestnut was missing. Chestnut was one of the best horses, a gentle giant. He whistled to Joey (his favourite stallion) and drove back to the stables. He soon fitted Joey's harness and then they cantered away, determined to find Chestnut. After a while they slowed to a walk. They had just entered marshy ground and fresh tracks were clearly visible. Chestnut was struggling in a bog. Quickly David fitted a harness around Chestnut a connected them with rope.

"Heave Joey"

Slowly Chestnut slid out of the bog.

"Well done" said David and together they trotted back home.
