Norham
Castle, Sunrise: colour study, 1797-8
You're bound to look back upon your journey one day, so you decide to write an entry in your diary.
You decide to move on: your next destination is just across the border and into Scotland.
You will then head South again, back into England, and to the Lake District.
The area is well-known for its beauty, and you should be able to sell plenty of works developed from sketches you make there.
You've already got 70 sketches in your small sketchbook, but only 22 in your large one, as you have been reserving it for
mountain scenery.
Buttermere is the first place you shall visit in the Lake District, and you decide to set off at once.
