About the artist:
Bill Woodrow, RA. is a sculptor. He studied at Winchester School of Art (1967-68), St. Martin's School of Art (1968-71) and Chelsea School of Art (1971-2). His first solo exhibition was at the Whitechapel Gallery, London in 1972. In the early 1980s he represented Britain at Biennales in Sydney (1982), Paris (1982, 1985) and Sâo Paulo (1983). In 1986 he was a finalist in the Turner Prize at the Tate Gallery, London. He was a trustee of the Tate (1996-2001) and is currently a trustee of the Imperial War Museum and Governor of the University of the Arts, London.
