William Furlong: Now I’m on the Lisson Gallery stand talking to Nicholas Logsdail. Nicholas, how have you found this fair, this year?
Nicholas Logsdail: About 500% better than last time. We’ve done excellent business with surprisingly all British clients, but there’s great room for improvement.
WF: So the Fair has been quite a success for the Lisson Gallery?
NL: It’s been terrific for us and I hope it’s been good for other people. I think that one of the big problems is that people don’t take the trouble to look at the foreign galleries because they’re not used to it, so it’s a little dispiriting for them. They need more encouragement.
WF: What about the Fair, do you think it works within this context?
NL: We don’t have any Biennales here and we don’t have any big international shows and on that basis at least, this is something that gets close to that.
WF: So the exercise has been well worth it from your point of view?
NL: Yes.
