BP Artist's Talk
Nigel Cooke

Tuesday 4 April 2006, 18.30–20.00

Nigel Cooke paints vast, elaborate, entropic landscapes. His mesmerising, nightmarish view of the world is at once familiar and alien, composed and chaotic. Cooke's work offers a contemporary take on many of the subjects depicted by the artists in the Gothic Nightmares: Fuseli, Blake and the Romantic Imagination exhibition.

This talk coincides with Nigel Cooke: A Portrait of Everything at the South London Gallery, 30 March – 14 May.
