Directed by and starring Buster Keaton, The General (Buster Keaton and Clyde Bruckman, USA 1927, 75 min, cert U) sees Keaton pursuing a train hijacked by Union troops during the American Civil War. The film, a classic of silent cinema, has been hailed as one of Keaton's greatest screen comedies.
