Made on the verso of Tate D34279 (Turner Bequest CCCXLII 77), a view of Sallanches, the present sketch is insufficiently detailed to allow easy identification, but must also date from Turner’s 1836 tour of the Alps. For more information about the tour, see the Introduction to this section.
