This sketch appears to show a closer view of the church depicted in D20508 (CCXXIV 198), the other half of this folded sheet, while an even closer view of the same church is shown on the verso of this sketch (D20510; CCXXIV 199v). The manner in which the angle of the wall appears to shift after the first bay suggests this view of the church may show an end of a transept wall rather than the main façade of the building. The full details of this wall are slightly obscured by the foliage of some trees positioned towards the foreground.

Technical notes:
This sketch is on the same sheet as D20508 (CCXXIV 198). The two halves are separated by a faint line of a fold that runs down the centre of the sheet; the half with this sketch on it measures 140 x 193mm.
