To the left are two or three tall trees, possibly cypresses. To the right the land rises up, forming a ridge that is lined with verdant trees. Rocks also feature in the landscape, running through which appears to be a river or stream, its glistening surface captured in highlights of gouache.
There is a sketch of an unrelated subject on the verso (D20444; CCXXIV 142v).
