With the page turned vertically, towards the outer edge Turner has made two swift sketches of yachts under sail, juxtaposed and possibly racing, with loose indications of the horizon and low coastal features. Below is a study of a separate craft in isolation, seen from the starboard side.

Technical notes:
There is a short tear in the paper at the top left along the edge of the leather flap forming a pencil-holder loop under this paste-down, where it has come away from the board beneath.
