This slight sketch, rendered swiftly and with brevity, depicts a coastal scene with shipping. A church and post mill is pictured at bottom left. The location may be Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, given the presence in this view of similar mills depicted in a sketch of Yarmouth on Tate D18176; Turner Bequest CCIX 11.
