This drawing of Liège is orientated inversely relative to the foliation. It shows the Pont des Arches at centre and the citadel beyond in cursory profile. The twin towers of the Church of St Bartholomew are just visible at the right side of the bridge (Tate D20099; Turner Bequest CCXVII 10). Quayside houses rather like those recorded on Tate D20095; Turner Bequest CCXVII 8 line either side of the riverbank, along with a waterwheel at right. The drawing continues onto the folio opposite (Tate D20101; Turner Bequest CCXVII 11).
