With the sketchbook turned to the right is the continuation of an inscription in brown ink by Turner from folio 1 (D25644) which also continues on folio 3 (D25647), with a related note on the inside back cover (D41234). The notes relate to the discussion at the Royal Academy about purchasing the Old Master drawings from the collection of the late President, Sir Thomas Lawrence. They are transcribed on folio 1.
