In this drawing Walter Sickert has drawn a ballerina pirouetting with a stage-set depicting a landscape behind. He has used crayon to emphasise her movements and parts of her clothes and hair (see also TGA 8120/3/63). It is possible that Sickert made this drawing while in Dieppe in c.1919–20.
