Conserving Tissot's Portrait 1876

Conservator Rebecca Hellen is in the process of removing old yellow varnish from James Tissot's Portrait 1876 in order to restore the transparacy of woman's white dress. This painting, Holyday c. 1876 and The Gallery of HMS Calcutta (Portsmouth) c. 1876 will be on display in The EY Exhibition: Impressionists in London, French Artists in Exile (1870 – 1904).
