



Tate's Board of fourteen Trustees governs Tate's four galleries, its programmes and the Tate Collection.
There are currently two positions available:
We are seeking an individual with a prominent and respected reputation in the field of public affairs, gained through experience in broadcast, print or digital media, or through service in public institutions or the public sector.
The ideal candidate should be keenly aware of current issues and topics in the public realm and will ideally have a board international perspective. Applicants for the role should also have a strong interest in the visual arts and be willing to advocate on Tate's behalf.
Board members are expected to dedicate approximately two days per month on a voluntary basis to provide expertise, strategic advice and independent thinking.
Closing date: 17.00 on 28 September. Interviews are to take place on 19 November 2010.
The appointments will be made by the Prime Minister, in consultation with the Department for Culture, Media and Sport.

We are looking to appoint a practising artist in the field of painting, sculpture, installation, or photography, who is predominantly based in the UK, and has a significant national or international standing.
The ideal applicant will have strong networks in the British art world, and preferably also abroad, and have experience of art school teaching, public commissions or residencies. Applicants should be willing to speak for the interests of the community of artists whose work is presented to the public by Tate.
