A View from an Apartment is a digitally constructed photographic image featuring two young women in a domestic interior. A large picture window in the background offers a view of the port of Vancouver where industrial cranes partially obscure the city skyline. The window acts as a frame within a frame, emphasising the strong structure of the image, which is allied to sophisticated arrangements of colour, pattern and texture in both the interior and exterior sections. The clarity of the image and consistency of light levels in the interior and exterior portions of the composition were digitally enhanced by the artist during an exacting post-production process.
