Barbara Hepworth SPRING

© Bowness, Hepworth Estate

Spring is one of a group of nine important sculptures by Barbara Hepworth accepted by HM Government in lieu of Inheritance Tax and allocated to Tate. Of these works, eight have been on long loan to the Barbara Hepworth Museum in St Ives, where they have been on permanent display for several years. This very welcome addition to the Collection has significantly strengthened Tate’s representation of Hepworth’s post-war work.
