What is the Publication Scheme?
The aim of the Publication Scheme is to summarise the standard information that Tate routinely makes available to the public.
The term ‘publication’ refers to information that is available in a variety of formats, including online via Tate’s website and in hard copy.
Tate has adopted the Model Publication Scheme as introduced in 2009 by the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
How can I obtain documents available under the Publication Scheme?
Much of the information referred to in the Publication Scheme is available online through the links provided in the Publication Scheme.
If you are unable to access the information you require in this way, you can request a copy of it by sending a letter or an email to the address at the bottom of this page.

Will I be able to access information free of charge?
All information that is available through the online links is free of charge and we do not normally charge for providing information referred to in the Publication Scheme.
However, for requests which involve a substantial amount of documentation, we do reserve the right to charge to cover the costs of photocopying and postage.
Are there any restrictions in my use of the information?
Information included in the Tate's Publication Scheme may be reproduced once for non-commercial research and private study purposes only. Please contact the Tate Picture Library for permission to reproduce images in the Tate's collection. Permission to reproduce material in the Publication Scheme does not extend to material if the copyright is not owned by Tate. In such cases authorisation should be sought from the copyright holders concerned.

What's in the Publication Scheme?
All the information under the Publication Scheme is current unless stated. The Scheme is divided into six broad classes of information:
- Who we are and what we do: which includes our organisational structure, roles and responsibilities, governance, location, access and contact details.
- What our priorities are and how we are doing: which includes our vision and strategic priorities, Tate’s annual reports and audience information.
- The services we offer: which includes information on our galleries, Collection, research programmes, publications, press releases and our online activities.
- What we spend and how we spend it: which includes copies of our annual audited accounts.
- How we make decisions: which includes minutes of Trustee meetings.
- Policies and procedures: which includes information about our ethics policy, acquisitions and disposal policy, and recruitment policies.
How can I comment or make complaints?
