Tate Worlds are exciting Minecraft ‘maps’ that present virtual environments inspired by artworks from Tate’s collection.
The ‘maps’, or games allow players of Minecraft to enjoy artworks like never before. Delve into imaginary worlds inspired by famous paintings and the real-life places they depict. Undertake challenges relating to the themes of each artwork, explore how they were made and hear the stories they have to tell.
Tate has teamed up with some of Minecraft’s best known mapmakers to create these virtual artworks, offering a unique combination of art, history and adventure.
A total of 8 games inspired by different artworks will be released over the course of 2015. Tate Worlds games are available to existing players of Minecraft and are free to download.
