This is a fantastic result for London and the United Kingdom as a whole. Both BT and Tate are really proud to have played a part in helping London win, and we believe that the Games will benefit the whole of the country, not just the capital. We would like to thank all those artists who participated in the 40 Artists, 40 Days initiative which has focused attention on Britain's exceptional creative talent. We can now look forward to London hosting the best ever Olympic Games in 2012.
