Sam Taylor-Wood was named Most Promising Young Artist at the Venice Biennial in 1997 and was shortlisted for the Turner Prize in 1998. Her work combines elements of photography, film and video installations, and recent projects include the celebrated Soliloquy series (1998-2000); Crying Men (2002-4), a collection of photographs of male actors crying; and David (2004) a video of David Beckham, the England football Captain, asleep.
