(b. London, England 1944)

Although trained as a classical musician, Michael Nyman began his professional career as a music critic and musicologist and only returned to music composition in 1968, when Harrison Birtwistle asked him to work on the libretto for his piece Down by the Greenwood Side. Man and Boy: Dada – a Kurt Schwitters based opera set in London, is to be released on MN Records in the next 6 weeks.
