"I send you an emblem for London's bid"
Graphic Designer
(b. Kenya 1931)
One of the most influential figures in post-war British graphic design, Alan Fletcher
synthesised the cerebral graphic tradition of Europe with North America's emerging
pop culture and became a pioneer of independent graphic design in Britain during
the late 1950s and early 1960s. During his career Fletcher has tackled every facet
of design - from corporate identities to posters - and developed some of the most
well-known graphic schemes of the era including the identities of Reuters and
the Victoria & Albert Museum.
